AreYouDeWhy is this so unique, creative and original?
Finally, Black Mirror has come BACK to mindfuck us all and it showed. Gonna be honest, the last couple seasons had me wondering if the mirror had finally cracked. But Season 7? Black Mirror said, “Hold my beer, got you fam” and delivered some absolute bangers with both brains and feelings. Maybe it’s personal, but this season doesn’t just scare you with tech, the themes hit closer to home as well. It went back to the well with stories that feel like they could happen tomorrow.
The episodes aren’t just edgy for the sake of it, they’re intentional, layered, and more human. With the rise of everything turning into “Service as a Service,” with monthly payment plans, I can definitely imagine healthcare going the way of “Common People.” That episode was tragic, hilarious, and terrifying all at once. The acting? Spot on. Everyone felt so real, like I knew them. And haven’t we all done something we’re not proud of when we’re desperate?
And “Eulogy”? That one hit me right in the emotional RAM. It got me reflecting on past relationships, and whether my memory of them is even accurate or just a self-protective remix. Honestly, the acting this season feels lived-in. Everyone brings that quiet dread Black Mirror does best, and it just works.
The ideas feel fresh again, too. Every episode still twists the knife, but now the knife’s personalized. Like yeah, if someone made my life a living hell, I would want to steal their power and live like royalty. No shame.
And okay, I’m not a Trekkie, but with AI evolving as fast as it is, “USS Callister: Into Infinity” had me thinking: how long until the NPCs start making demands? What really surprised me wasn’t the return of the Callister storyline, but how the machine even got into Robert’s hands. And then to find out the game’s core is just a Robert clone endlessly building worlds with no escape? Total mindfuck.
Season 7 really feels like Black Mirror remembered what made it iconic in the first place, freaky, original, deeply creative storytelling. We’re talking moral chaos, tech nightmares, and just enough emotional gut-punch to keep it from tipping into pure cynicism. It’s smart, it’s unsettling, and honestly? The series found its footing again..only to just stomp on my brain, in the best way.
